This is not a fair comparison as petruchios insulting behaviour is not similar to Katharina, where petruchio is very rude and insulting and is not respectful for example ‘ you peasant swain! You whoreson malthorse drudge! Did I not bid thee meet me in the park and bring along these rascal knaves with thee?’ These quotations support how rude petruchio comes across. He is so insulting and aggresive and minipulates people until they are under his control as he does this exact thing to katherina, he starves her, he deprives her until she eventually gives in. they sho this in act 5 scene 2 katherina quotes ‘nay, i will give thee a kiss’ when really katherina does not want to but he is torturing her until she gives in. ‘come come you wasp’ shows Shakespeare using language devices such as a metaphors, when petruchio uses the word ‘wasp’ he is indicating that katharina is a poisonous insect with a nasty sting, when really she is just not allowing him the control of the conversation. this leads me onto katherinas behavior. Katharina may come across a bit rude to the audience when actually she is jus very strong willed and sticks up for herself. She is very intelligent and can twist words and come across very wise and smart. The fact that women in Padua have no say and can not speak out for themselves seems unfair but unfortunately that’s the way it is, but Katharina speaks out and sticks out for herself where as no other women does. Thats why we think she is agressive and rude when really she is just being heard , as well as protecting herself from men who are just after a women for them to own. Katherina knows the men in padua aint in relationships, because they love there wifes its only because they want someone to own And order about.

This is a good first attempt at tackling the question – I’m happy that you’ve taken a clear position and that you’re using quotations to support your idea.
What is needed now is for you to explore the differences in the language the characters use. Everything is open game here, you can look for figurative language like metaphors. You can look at the sound and metre of the writing. You can also explore the power relationship between the characters and what they are trying to achieve in the play.
This would then be an outstanding answer – my advice is to continue to craft it from where it is now.
Let me know if you need more help.

You’re developing your ideas – now (possibly the tough bit for you) you need to look at the quotations and the language the characters are using.
Keep up the revisions, it is making a difference. By the time you’re done you’ll feel a lot more confident that you know what you’re talking about.
